Improving the sounds
Our work in South Wales has continued with action improvements and adjustments at
Pisgah Chapel Bancffosfelen, which has been unplayable for some time due to cyphers.
At St Caersalam Chapel Pontyberem we
improved the reliability of the pedal pipes which had suffered over the years from dampness. The pneumatic action of these two chests had deteriorated and the leather on the motors had become stiff and unglued. We restored the chest by fitting new leather to the pallets and motors and re-glued all the joints on the pipe chest.

We completed the restoration of a table top barrel organ for a private customer who was pleased with the result as the organ had been in the family since new and had not been heard playing for over 80 years.
As usual, it the many smaller items of
maintenance and repair work which are so
vital in keeping even the smallest organ in working order. We understand the
importance of their pipe organ to the churches and it is pleasing to see in the past year the publicity given to pipe organs and organ music by celebrity organists like Anna Lapwood.
