East Anglian Projects

The Re-Dedication of the Willis Organ in St Peter and St Paul Church Fressingfield, Suffolk, left, was celebrated in June. It was a Church and village project, partly funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The rebuilding included re-positioning the console from the vestry end to the chancel side to improve the response and reliability of the mechanical action and to allow better communication with the organist. The chancel casework was re-made and positioned centrally in the arch and new casework made for the North Aisle.
We restored two Norfolk organs at St George’s Hardingham, originally a Henry Jones, and at Wicklewood Parish Church where we re-instated and restored the Positiv Organ Company instrument which had been stored in the village for many years.
St Peter Mancroft Church, Norwich, as part of their re-ordering of the East End, we made a new movable platform for the detached console for the East End organ and fitted a new multi-system so that the console can be easily relocated to suit the occasion.
At Griston, Old Lakenham and Horningtoft we carried out repairs and minor items of maintenance and at St Mary the Virgin, Carleton Forehoe we restored the soundboard following water damage due to the theft of lead from the Church roof. At the very end of 2017 we reassembled the instrument in
St Mary’s Cranworth on the new Church floor.
