Repairs and water damage
2019 started in North Norfolk at St Mary’s Holme-next-the Sea with the restoration of the Walker organ originally built for Holme House. This was followed by the cleaning and restoration of the two manual Hele organ in St Nicholas Church, Hintlesham, Suffolk.
At St Andrew’s Field Dalling and St Isan’s Llanishen we restored the soundboards as a result of water damage and at St Isan’s we also had to replace all the water damaged magnets. When we first went to take a look water was actually dripping from the soundboard onto the swell keys making random notes sound.
Repairs and renewals included a new blower box for the E W Norman organ at All Saints’ Church Thondon, Suffolk, repairs to the concertina wind trunk on the Lewis organ at St Peter’s Church Ampton Suffolk and at Wymondham Methodist Church we re-leathered the Bourdon pneumatic motors.
Nearer home at St Andrew’s Fersfield we put the historic Bates instrument onto a new moveable platform in the re-ordered Chancel.
